Free fire safety business seminars

12 September 2017/in Information /by Christine Trevorrow

Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue are running regular workshops to help businesses and community organisations better understand and conform to fire safety legislation relevant to the premises in which they operate.

Seminars are held on the second Tuesday of every month at Parkside Place Community Fire Station in Cambridge, and the third Tuesday of the month at Stanground Fire Station in Peterborough.

The general workshop aims to give a brief explanation of the Fire Safety Order and the requirements of a fire risk assessment. It lasts about two hours and is free of charge.

Attendance at one of these should provide you with a better understanding of your responsibilities under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 (FSO) and guide you through the process of conducting a fire risk assessment.

Workshops can be organised to focus on specific sectors of the business community, such as licensing, care homes, or retail  and will examine official guidance documents relating to that premises type.
