Community-owned solutions to local conflicts

This workshop is part of an EU initiative Learning Communities for Peace (LCP), which has been evaluated and developed with the University of Cambridge. The resulting toolkit has been developed to provide people within communities (that have experienced an influx of new groups of people, dysfunction and inequality) with the motivation, tools and knowledge to begin their own community projects to resolve local conflicts. It’s a framework that begins with the hardest question – What’s wrong and how can I/we make things better?

The project has been running 3 years, across 5 countries and is coming to an end 1st September 2019 so this workshop is a one-off opportunity that will consider:

  • The Story – how others rose to the challenge.
  • Tools – how to begin plan, structure and deliver a project.
  • Experience – dealing with inevitable challenges and barriers to change along the way.
