Training & Events

This training is for trustees and others with responsibility for developing strategies, conveying impact and writing business plans.

Charities need business plans to show our supporters, beneficiaries, funders and the public how we are going to get things done. These plans set out our goals and explain how we will measure our performance. A business plan helps us demonstrate that we are accountable, transparent and sustainable and they are a key tool in preparing for funding applications and for charity registration.

Part 1: Key terms & useful planning tools – getting your head around the basics – looks at business terminology and how to develop planning tools including an introduction to developing a Theory of Change that can help you prepare your business plan

Part 2: Creating a business plan – getting your ideas down on paper – looks at how you develop and design your plan. In addition to the slides we will provide you with a business plan template you can use to get started.
