Who is it for?
This course is aimed at those who would like to get more from the budgeting process and gain a greater understanding of the costs involved in running activities.
Some previous experience in preparing budgets would be useful, but is not essential. This course is Free to any individual or community organisation that operates in the voluntary sector across Cambridgeshire.
What will it cover?
This course will cover budget formats, costing projects and allocating core costs, as well as linking the budget to your organisational strategy. The final section will cover using your budgets to monitor results and produce financial reports.

Different budget formats and when they may be used
How to begin costing a new project
Understanding the importance of funding core costs
Budgeting for different funds and projects
Linking the budget to organisational strategy, turning ideas into numbers
Using budgets to monitor performance and produce useful financial reports.

The session is being run by Louise Prosser. Louise is the Finance Manager at Hunts Forum. She is a Chartered Accountant, as well as having a degree in Accounting and Finance.
Louise has worked in the voluntary sector for the last 15 years, in a variety of roles which include finance development worker, finance manager, bookkeeper and treasurer.
Louise specialises in working with groups in the areas of bookkeeping and accounts, budgets and legal responsibilities.
